Is democracy broken in Oklahoma? Our state is far too often ranked near the bottom for participation in the political process and the health and well-being of Oklahomans. How do we develop a state budget that reflects our priorities and a tax system that allows us to meet our needs? What’s holding Oklahomans back, and how can we fix it?
That’s the focus of “Together Tuesdays”, a statewide tour sponsored by the Together Oklahoma coalition. Kara Joy McKee and Damario Solomon-Simmons from the Oklahoma Policy Institute will visit cities and towns across Oklahoma and invite all Oklahomans to think about tough issues and the solutions that work for busy people.
Where we’ll be
- September 23, Enid: The tour will visit Five80 Coffee House at 122 E Randolph Ave in Enid from 5:00-6:30pm.
- October 7, Woodward: We’ll be at the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Commons at 2007 34th St in Woodward from 5:00-6:30pm.
- October 21, TWO events in Lawton: Bring your lunch and your friends to the small conference room of the Cameron University CETES center from 11:30-1:00pm and/or join us for light refreshments and a thought provoking presentation and discussion at Saint John’s Baptist Church from 6:30-8:00pm
- October 28, Shawnee: Join us at the Shawnee Public Library from 5:30-7:00pm

The series of small group discussions will share how to access to research-based analysis of public policies and how to put that information to use to make a difference.
Whether you care most about education, criminal justice, roads and bridges, access to health care, pensions, or other priorities, Together Tuesdays will give you the tools to get involved in shaping our home state.
